MIST ELIMINATORS:
FIBERWIND CANDLE FILTERS
FIBERWIND™ type mist eliminators are specifically made to remove mainly submicron liquid or soluble solid particles from air or gas streams.
Our fiber bed filters are frequently used in sulphuric acid applications in order to remove and collect sulphuric acid mist.
The mist eliminators in the pictures have external cages made of Polypropylene and FRP/GRP, which are suitable in case of low concentration of acid environment.
Candle demisters in Stainless steel are also available for sulphuric acid plants: for example when installed in the SO3 scrubber section.

WIREMAT MESHPAD FILTERS
Meshpad mist eliminators collect essentially 100% of all liquid particles from 2 to 5 microns in diameter, depending on the design parameters.
Meshpads are usually suggested to catch sulphuric acid mist droplets.
The black and yellow demister in the photo is a Structured meshpad. This type of demister is an inertial separator: liquid droplets are removed due to their inertial momentum. Particles which are too small (less than 2-3 microns in diameter) are therefore not to be considered as a good candidate for this type of filter.

AIR POLLUTION CONTROL SYSTEMS: ELECTROCLEAN WESP PLANT
Here’s one of the latest WESP complete plants made for sulphuric acid industry.
The system has been succesfully managing the removal of sulphuric acid mist load from a Sulphuric acid production.
AWS Electroclean WESP system is the best solution in case of removal of fine dust and aerosols as final stage downstream existing filtration systems (venturi scrubbers or wet scrubbers) or without any prefiltration system, depending on inlet loads.
During the years AWS has improved the design and materials of this system: lead coated plates or pipes have been replaced with conductive tubes made of PP or FRP or Hastelloy.
Same happened with ionizing rods: lead coated rods are now substituted with Hastelloy rods.
