The liquid droplets, due to their momentum, impact on the wires and are separated from the gas flow as they are unable to follow the gas streamlines. MESHPAD are inertial separators because liquid droplets are removed due to their inertial momentum.

Meshpad mist eliminators collect essentially 100% of all liquid particles from 2 - 5 microns in diameter, depending on design parameters.  Available in virtually any size or shape, in a broad range of metals or plastics, individual styles of MESHPAD mist eliminators can be supplied to meet specific customer needs. Stainless steels and exotic alloys are fully annealed to provide maximum corrosion resistance.


STRUCTURED MESHPADS


STRUCTURED MESHPAD mist eliminators of AWS are made of wires.
The liquid droplets, due to their momentum, impact on the wires and are separated from the gas flow as they are unable to follow the gas streamlines.
STRUCTURED MESHPAD are inertial separators because liquid droplets are removed due to their inertial momentum. Particles which are too small (less than 2-3 micron in diameter) are therefore not to be considered as a good candidate for this type of mist eliminator.
